Emma de Villiers

BA (Hons) MPhil LLB (UCT)

Emma de Villiers is a qualified and admitted attorney with an educational background in Film, Gender and African studies. Emma was a student activist during her time as a law student at UCT, and it was the intersection between complex social systems and the potential power of the assistance offered by the legal system that drew Emma to the law.

In 2012 Emma decided to leave the legal profession and join Barbara at Social Transformation System, applying her wide skill set to a focus on solving complex social problems. She is now a partner and director of Fixed. Emma leads projects, particularly where there is a requirement for skills transfer and change management.

Emma acquired a BA in Film and Media Studies from UCT in 2003. She studied Honours and Masters in African Studies, with a focus on film and gender from 2004 to 2007 and graduated with her LLB, in 2008, all at UCT. Emma is an admitted attorney with the Law Society of the Northern Provinces.

No matter how complex the problem, we believe that with help and support, ordinary people can achieve great things through collaboration.
